First Thursdays
10 Years Exhibition

OPEN CALL: Submit artwork to be included in the First Thursdays 10 Year Anniversary Exhibition at the AVA Gallery (Deadline: 5 August)
First Thursdays Cape Town will be 10 years old in September 2022. To mark the occasion, we’re hosting an exhibition at the Association for Visual Arts Gallery (18 August – 29 September 2022) where we’ll show work sourced from the First Thursdays community and broader public.|
The coming together of people – different, similar, diverse and familiar – is at the core of what First Thursdays has always been about. The exhibition, titled ‘Together’, is an opportunity to acknowledge, appreciate and celebrate that once-a-month coming together of people and its contribution to the life of the city.
The submission process to show work in the exhibition is open to the public. Anyone can submit artwork for consideration – one does not need to be a practising artist and there is no minimum age limit.
The brief: Artwork that features people or depicts the human figure in any way, in any media (painting, drawing, photography, collage, printmaking, etc.).While the work need not have any relation to First Thursdays itself, submissions of any photographs from (or impressions of) First Thursdays events are welcome.
